IM Andy Woodward is a chess international master from the United States. He earned his IM title in 2022 at the age of 12. On January 30, 2024, he earned his third and final grandmaster norm and, with a 2501 rating, should receive the title at the next FIDE meeting as one of the youngest GMs in history.
Woodward played in the 2023 Pro Chess League for the Gotham Knights along with GM Hikaru Nakamura and others. The Knights ended up winning the season. Woodward also scored 6.5/11 at the 2023 World Junior Championships despite being one of the youngest participants (anyone under the age of 20 is eligible to play).
