GM Jakhongir Vakhidov

Jakhongir Vakhidov is a grandmaster from Uzbekistan and part of the Uzbek Olympic team. He was the joint winner of the Hastings International Chess Congress in 2013/14 and 2015/16. In the second round of the 2021 FIDE World Cup in Sochi, Russia he eliminated GM Lenier Dominguez.

Vakhidov won a gold medal with the rest of the team from Uzbekistan at the 2022 Chess Olympiad. He had the highest performance rating on the team, 2813, after scoring 6.5/8 on the fourth board. 

Vakhidov was a second to GM Ding Liren in Ding's victorious world championship match in 2023.
